DELETE THE HDMOD FOLDER from your thief gold main directory and copy the new HDMOD folder from archive version 0.9.0!<br />

You will have to uninstall completely, delete your thief folder, and start from a clean game install if you want to use the new mod version 0.9.0<br />

This is inevitable because we have optimized the whole mod structure!<br />

The HD mod requires a lot of graphic and CPU power!<br />

After installing this mod don´t use your old savegames!<br />

Step 1 - Thief Gold<br />

GOG Version:<br />

If you use the last GOG Version of Thief Gold (2.0.0.46) there is NewDark installed already!<br />

-> So you don´t need to install NewDark!<br />

I recommend everyone to install TFix 1.18a! It fixes some bugs!<br />

With TFix version 1.18a there are NO MORE conflicts with the HD mod! (THX @ voodoo47)<br />

So it is no longer necessary to deselect all mods when installing TFix!<br />

!NOTE! THE MOD REQUIRES NewDark v1.21!<br />

Some people have problems how to installing New Dark.<br />

For those there is an unofficial patch called TFix (last version is 1.18a!) which has included also NewDark verison.<br />

With TFix version 1.18a there are NO MORE conflicts with the HD mod! (THX @ voodoo47)<br />

NOTE! If you have installed an older TFix version - run TFix again, DESELECT ALL mods and reinstall it.<br />

Activation of animated sky / fog / new meshes - manually<br />

(TFix users can skip this step!):<br />

To activate the animated sky, the fog and the new meshes<br />

go to your thief gold main directory - open up the file called "cam.cfg" with notepad and add the next 3 lines:<br />

fogging 1<br />

enhanced_sky 1<br />

character_detail 1<br />

<br />

Save and close the file.<br />

<br />

<br />

Thief Enhancement Pack 2.0 (Improved object models and textures):<br />

If you want to have also improved object models and textures you have to install the "Thief Enhancement Pack 2.0" (This step can also be skipped!)<br />

There is no installer, just the ep2.crf file.<br />

It is no longer necessary to change the paths from the "cam_mod.in". The HD mod v0.9.0 contains the correct cam.mod.ini already.<br />

Drop it into your Thief Gold main directory.<br />

Step 2 - Unpack TGHDMOD-0.9.0:<br />

Unzip now the TGHDMOD-0.9.0 archive to your thief gold main directory:<br />

For example (C:Thief GOLD)<br />

If he asks "override?" answer with "yes".<br />

The "HDMOD" folder directory should now look like this (C:Thief GOLDHDMOD)<br />

Step 3 - Config - cam_ext.cfg:<br />

If you want to use my own config files - you will find these in HDMODconfigs.<br />

Choose between "config_1"(config 1 makes stronger contrasts - colors and also a more realistic lighting!)<br />

OR<br />

"config_2" (config 2 use more Bloom-FX and a softer lighting!).<br />

Then just copy the "cam_ext.cfg" file to your thief gold main directory. If he asks "override?" answer with "yes".<br />

!NOTE! In these config files anti-aliasing is set to x8!<br />

If you don´t want that (for example your PC is not so fast)<br />

open up the file "cam_ext.cfg" with notepad and search for "multisampletype 8". Set the value "8" to "0"! (value 4 or 16 is also possible!)<br />

Now anti-aliasing is off now!<br />

You can also make your own favorite config by yourself!<br />

Also you can switch the "Fogging FX" off if you don´t like it.<br />

To do that, start the game and select "options" and then "video".<br />

Animated HD water textures disable:<br />

==================================<br />

Go to "HDMOD" folder and double click on the file called "disabled water surface texture.bat".<br />

This will directly disable all water surface textures (ONLY HD MOD WATER TEXTURES) in the game!<br />

To enable the water again - double click on the file called "enabled water surface texture.bat".<br />

What can i do if there are blue surfaces in a mission?:<br />

==================================================<br />

Save the mission at this point and exit the game! Open the game again and reload your last save!<br />

If there are no blue surfaces anymore = this happens only if there are too many textures in the game texture memory!<br />

This can especially happen in the mission "The Sword" or "Escape"! We try to resolve this problem!
